1. CONSTABLE, John - English - 1776 - 1837. "A House in Hampstead" (Circa 1799). Pencil. Other studies in this series are in the Victoria and Albert Museum.

2. CHINNERY, Georgia - English - 1774 - 1852. Ink. "Squabbling Gentlemen." Chinnery is especially popular for his Chinese studies.

3. CHINNERY, George. Letter and color chart sent to an unknown lady.

4. COSWAY, Richard - English - 1742 - 1821. Black chalk, black wash, and touches of sanguine. "Shepherd and Shepherdess." Cosway found fame as a miniaturist.

5. DESPORTES, Alexandre Francois - French - 1661 - 1743. Red Chalk. "Study of a Poppy. "

6. DORE, Gustave - French - 1832 - 1883. “Sheet of Studies." Dore was a friend of Miss Whitney's aunt, Lydia Wooster Harris, Hudson River painter, and is mentioned in the biography, "Vinnie Ream the Girl Who Sculptured Lincoln" by Gordon Langley Hall.

7. EDRIDGE, Henry - English - 1769 - 1821. Pencil. "Portrait of Constantine John Phipps, second Baron Mulgrave.

8. HOWITT, Samuel - English - 1765? - 1822. Watercolor and Pencil. "Grizzly Bear." Howitt published "Miscellaneous Etchings of Animals," in 1803.

9. ESCALANTE, Juan de Sevilla Romeroy - Spanish - 1643 - 1695. Pen and ink with brown washes. "'The Birth of the Virgin. "




10. ISABEY, Jean-Baptiste - French - 1767 - 1855. Pen and brown wash. "Abbaye de Klosternenborg. Isabey was a brilliant miniaturist who was patronised by the great courts of Europe.

11. LANDSEER, Sir Edwin, R. A. - English - 1802 - 1873. Pen. "Highland Family with Deer." Landseer was a favorite painter of Queen Victoria.

12. LEVER, Hayley. - American. Contemporary. Pen. "Garden Scene. " Inscribed "To Our Dear Friend Isabel With Much Love." Painted 1921.

13. KAUFFMAN, Angelica - Swiss - 1741 - 1807. Pen and water color. "Two Oriental Figures." Painter and singer, her portraits and historical pictures enhanced the Adam period.
