Charles Town 6th January 1777
Sir,
In consequence of your favour from Andalusia I waited on the President who informed me he had actually sent Continental Commissions to Capt. Hardin long since, he added it was his belief they were sent at the same time with my Letter to that Gentleman, which was dated the 25th Novem. last, but if they have by any accident miscarried, fresh ones shall be sent
Sir,
In consequence of your favour from Andalusia I waited on the President who informed me he had actually sent Continental Commissions to Capt. Hardin long since, he added it was his belief they were sent at the same time with my Letter to that Gentleman, which was dated the 25th Novem. last, but if they have by any accident miscarried, fresh ones shall be sent
he informed me further that when Mr. Hardin was last in Town he had given him an order for arms, but that they were left behind when he set out for Beaufort, and that he thinks they have been sent lately by a Visit that was [illegible] thither with a supply of Powder.
Capt. Joyner's Command of Fort Lyttleton is a matter that will be settled in a few days to the satisfaction of all Parties.
Blankets, Cloathing &c. at present are not to be had, therefore the best shifts that can be, must be made without them.
When you quit Beaufort you will not omit bringing [illegible] with you, as I have no intention of having him left at that Post.
I am
Sir
Your Obed. humb. Serv.
