I send you a copy of a letter we have just received of a Battle began at Barton. We have no express to the [illegible], but suppose we have had [illegible] as the Battle was ended one sent off to be maybe in town to night. In [illegible] go off tomorrow. General Lee is 2d major General, Genl. Ward the first, Colonel Schuyler of New York the 3d or rather his first in command in the York Department. Have no time to write more. God help you [illegible] to all friends [illegible] particularly.
