Latter part

Charleston 27th July 1788.

Dear Sir,

Your esteemed favor of the 12th Instant, I did not receive until yesterday, otherwise I would with pleasure have answered it by the same conveyance that Mr Gervais wrote you.

I return you many thanks for the trouble you have taken with respect to my Lands in your District, particularly for disposing of the Halfway house Tract for £400. which I think is well sold & upon very good terms, and with which I am perfectly satisfied
whenever you shall be pleased to let me know the purchaser's name, I will furnish the necessary Conveyances.

I am sorry to hear of the cruel & barbarous behavior of Mr. Sevier & his banditti to the poor Cherokee Indians, whose present situation must be truly distressing, & I sincerely wish that the Governor of North Carolina may take immediate measures for apprehending & punishing of them, or otherwise to out Law them- for tis people of such abandoned characters that keep our frontiers but too often in a state of warfare with the poor Indians & who, tis to be lamented, generally escape being made examples of

The States have ratified the new Constitution & Congress have appointed a Committee to Report- an act for putting the same into operation- It is doubtful as yet whether New York will join them or not- if she does not, I will occasion some trouble

Mr. Warley joins his Compliments with Dear Sir.

Yours sincerely

Felix Warley

I would be glad to receive principal Indents in payment for the land at the current discount, which is now [illegible] for 1
