London, July 12th, 1788
Dear Sir,
Since I wrote to you on the 29th October 1785, I have not had the pleasure of hearing from you: but as I said there is no impediment to the operation of the Instalment-Act, I must beg the favour of you to discharge my Account of Commissions against your Father's Estate to my Attornies, as soon as possible.
I am also hopeful you will be able to collect Monies under that Act, to make my Attornies a payment in part of my demand against your Grand-father's Estate, and trust you will readily settle the Balance by Bond or Note, according to your Promise, as I am persuaded you have ever regulated your actions or principles of Honour and Probity, while, if that Promise did not bind the Estate, would render you incapable of Injustice, though legalized by Power or dictated by Interest, and I have too good an opinion of your understanding to imagine you would, in that case, suffer your Mind to be influenced by the Passions and political Prejudices, with which I have been most ungenerously prosecuted.
I beg you will make my respectful Compliments to your Brother and Sister: and am, with great regard, Dear Sir, your most obedt humle Serv, Robert Williams
