View of front exterior facade as seen from Meeting Street 8 Meeting Street is most notable for its mid-nineteenth century New Orleans style cast-iron balcony. The house was constructed prior to 1806 most likely by Captain Thomas Tucker. The earliest building on the site, a wooden Charleston single house, had a newer masonry facade of stucco was added sometime in the early nineteenth century, as noted the striking cast-iron balcony was added later on into the century. In addition to the main house there are two brick outbuildings that were most likely used as a laundry, kitchen and slave quarters.
