Central or Main Station morning reports and minute books of the Charleston, S.C., police from 1855 to 1894. Two volumes specifically cover the lower wards of Charleston at the time. Volume 1 contains the names of enslaved peoples and who they worked for. Volume 1 also contains doodles and notations (one of which is a poem) which appear to have been written by Union soldiers (giving their ranks and regiments) who were occupying the City of Charleston in 1865 and after.
